Making my way from festival to festival
Turned on to jazz in my college years of the late '50s. Sad to say, most of my heroes in this music have passed on. Jazz keeps evolving into music that is less about melody or recognizable harmonies. So like many older fans, I grow less inclined to go out for live music, and more content to listen to the hundreds of CDs and LPs I've amassed. Most of my live listening is done at the still-great festivals in New Orleans, Chicago,
Cape May NJ and Clearwater, Fla.
