R.J. DeLuke is an indefatigable jazz fan and arbiter elegantiarum who aspires to ultimate hipness; also an upstate NY freelance writer for various media.
He holds a journalism degree from Utica College of Syracuse University and spent many years as a reporter and editor for daily newspapers and some magazines. He contributes jazz articles regularly to the Albany (NY) Times-Union and All About Jazz, and has also written for Downbeat, Strings magazine, and anyone else that will take his shit. A self-taught musician (reeds and flute), he holds concerts in the living room, and sometimes shower (acoustics, baby!). Admission: a cup of coffee (sunday mornings) or a beer.
