    I do not think that audiophiles would accept 96k as up to their specs. They generally even reject 96k. I do think that there is more to it than just the kbits. Music from the Hearts of Space, http://www.hos.com used to stream 64k wma files; but they were fabulously brilliant, especially the deafening silences between cuts in the mix.
