Wasn't it rumored that Charlie Parker played a plastic sax during the Massy Hall concert with Dizzy Gilespie et al? I believe I saw Parker play at Birdland in or around the winter of 1954. I was very young and very bad at the time, so my memory may not be all that accurate.
