I'm sitting here at 4 in the morning listening to this incredible alblum No Laughing Matter and this is really some perfect jazz. I just opened it and popped it in for the first time and googled up his name and read this article. The players are all really stellar and Bob's playing is some of the most engaging trombone playing that I have ever heard. Being a trombonist myself I was heavily influenced by Watrous myself and I love the direction Mr. McChesney has gone in with it. Well, back to the woodshed for me. Something tells me I'm not going to be quite as pleased with my playing for a long while...but I like it that way.
