    John, I bet you enjoyed listening to these discs! great write up! my vinyl of the 1st recording is inaccessible...im gonna have to poke around and look for the CD! thanks for reviewing these great works.

    Thanks, as ever, for taking time out of your day to write in...and, also as ever, for the kind words. Yeah, it was a hoot to immerse myself in this stuff, and with at least three more boxes on the schedule - one with Charles Lloyd's first five ECM records (Fish Out of Water to Canto), one with Paul Motian's first six records (Conception Vessel up to It Should Have Happened a Long Time Ago)....and (finally!!) the three John Abercrombie Quartet albums - Arcade, Quartet and my personal fave, M (the latter two appearing on CD for the first time, and Arcade only briefly available in Japan in limited numbers), for which I'll be writing the liners, as I did for last year's Terje Rypdal Odyssey box. So keep yer eyes and ears open - plenty more to come!
