Louis was the Joe Lewis of Jazz--A real CHAMP! I had the Hohnor of meeting Louis In the early 60s at the Fremont Hotel Where I was Performing and he was doing a live radio show interview at the station on the top floor of the Fremont. The cat had a round callose on his lips where the mouth piece lay.Iv'e met and played with many of the greats-but being in the presense of Louis Armstrong was something very special! Mort Weiss

I also would strongly recomend listening to recods billed as the Louis Armstrong orchestra circa 1939----No show biz-Just great Music-sorry I don't have more info. on same but i'm sure that it's easily available. Best, Mort
