This album and single 45, made non jazz lovers into fans! Long ago I became a friend of Dave and the quartet. In 1959 I had a jazz group "The Bob Bovi Quartet" featuring Mark Taber. After Time Out came out my group became more sought-after because we played a lot of tracks from the album. One story about Brubeck was, after a concert in Southern Massachusetts we went backstage to greet Dave and the boys. And after talking a while I offered our help in packing the gear into Dave's large Mercury station wagon with no radio. Dave said it was being fixed back in Connecticut. After that, Dave asked me for directions to Boston, and I said "follow us." After we got to I-95 north to Boston I stopped and said goodbye to Dave, Paul, Joe and Eugene! We took the 95 south exit back to Providence, RI. That is the inside story!
