He he. So, I had to try and squeeze it in without actually saying the word... :)

What an exhilarating, mind-opening review! I thought I knew jazz pretty well, but beyond McBride and Fleck, every name was new to me. The constant theme here was forward-thinking, eclectic, experimental, international. Here in the US, jazz has smothered under the blanket of "America's Classical Music" (thanks, Wynton), eating its young. Though Denver has a rare 24/7 jazz station (KUVO-FM, not that I'm recommending it), it's content to spin every rehashed release from Blue Note, forever pursuing that night in 1959 when perfection was attained, never to be repeated. Thank goodness the internet offers me a way around such conservative constraints. And bravo Montreal for keeping the flame alive, until someday I can attend!

Thanks for taking the time to write, John...and for such kind words (I'm blushing!)...
