George Duke has been a hugely heroic role model in my life as a pianist for 35 years. Like wine he just gets better to listen to year by year, decade by decade. The emotional highlight of my musical life was the unexpected thrill of sitting in with him and his group when he came to Richmond, VA in 2003. I will always be thankful for every grace note I hear him play. I will always be one of his loyal students.
