A splendid and long-needed interview with a talented, brilliant, exciting and innovative jazz artist who has earned her place in the pantheon of great jazz pianists. But who, after countless CDs and local performances, has scarcely received the true attention she merits and deserves. Case in point: a search of NPR music programs reveals virtually no air exposure. As far as I can tell, national TV exposure is nill. Once again, we seem to be ignoring the giants among us, unless they're creatures spawned from pop culture.
