Being a trombone player I petition that the so-called 'spit valve' be renamed a "moisture condensation relief device." The liquid that accumulates in brass instruments is caused by our hot air (many will testify that we are full of hot air) meeting the cooler temperature of our instruments. Some might also testify that the only thing 'cool' about trombone players is our horn.
Sincerely and musically yours,
