I'm a niece of Walter Gross, the composer of Tenderly. I'm looking forward to hearing the rendition on this recording. By the way, Walter never had a middle name. "Walter Lloyd Gross" turns up in a Library of Congress search -- not as the composer, but as the author of two books on shorthand. I checked his birth certificate, Army records, and ASCAP membership: no middle name. He sometimes used his birth father's name, Kalish, as his middle name (William Gross had adopted him). The reference on Wikipedia was corrected about a year ago. Thanks!
