There is nothing I can add to Jack Bowers' beautiful statement on Bud Shank's magnificent last recording, "Fascinating Rhythms.". I was born in the same year as Bud and have listened to him since the early fifties both on recordings and at clubs in LA. "I Told You So", another superb set, recorded on the east coast with Kenny Barron in 1992 as well as the fabulous get-together with Phil Woods at Yoshi's, "Bouncing With Bud" should be included in all Bud Shank devotees' collections. Bud left us last year, I'm still here to listen to his music. I thank the Lord for being so lucky.
