I Knew and played with Teddy in the early 60s-- Sessions & some local #47 union gigs--- the union gigs were very unique! i'll be writing about them and my playing with and around pianist Joe Albany among some other (now that I look at it ) historical HAPS -BACK IN THE DAY. Mort

Had the pleasure of meeting Teddy Edwards a few times...a real beautiful cat...is said to have played the first recorded be bop tenor sax solo..."Up In Dodo's Room." surely wouldve been more successful, however one defines success, had he moved to NY like Dexter, Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy...tough time getting a gig in his last years...he could blow!
