I've heard this disc, and though the rhythm section is merely "competent," it's the last word in trombone artistry--all the more's the wonder that it took 30 years for it to come out, especially given the limited discography of both players. The big question: who's better? At times it's hard to distinguish them, though to me Rosolino sounds flashier; Fontana, cleaner. (They also go after each other on a recent release under Harold Land's name: "Take Aim.")
