I thought this was a hopping good article. I generally begin my list in December of the previous year, allowing a one month overlap. I add to my list as the year goes on, considering and reconsidering what I hear. I am just glad that most of the music is of such a high quality that it makes my end-of-the-year list hard to assemble. -

That's why I don't :-) I break it down to 12 jazz picks, 6 historical/reissue, 6 progressive/fusion/other and 6 new discoveries: 30 in all. Props to you, man, for being able to whittle it down to only 10!
