Walking in Paris I entered the Harmonia Mundi Store in the centre. I was struck by a beautifull basssound that remembered me of Niels Hening Ørsted Pederson, whom I knew from a concert in his own club in Kopenhagen 40 years ago. After a shat with the man in the shop I impulsively bought this debut album of the Alboran Trio. At home again in the Netherlands I listened to all tracks discovering what Mediterrenean Jazz is. It is more than Bill Evans. Easy listening, but real jazz.
