Sorry for being pedantic but wasn't Giant Steps released in 1960? It was recorded in 1959 though...

Thanks for the catch and you are absolutely correct. I've amended the line to read: "Meanwhile, by the end of 1959 he was working on his major breakthrough solo album, <em>Giant Steps</em>, which would be released the following year."
