I have listened to the music on this CD several times. The pieces, at least to me, evolve slowly (SME&SMO "Plus Equals" on Emanem comes to mind), have a big dramatic nature and especially the woodwinds and brass orchestration sometimes reminds me of Vinny Golia's "Portland 1996" on Nine Winds. Though here the episodic nature is more prevalent than on the former cited CD's. I am used to listening to large ensemble music, which is by far my favorite subject in "Free Jazz/Free Improvisation". So I might add, that music by the London Improvisers Orchestra or William Parker's Little Huey Creative Music Orchestra (whose music can be pretty violent-bordering on unlistenable-) is easier to get into. The music on this disc is a real challenge for me, because it defies classification or at least makes it difficult.
