I have just iniatiated the "Great Billy Ecstine Revival" by singing his songs, more or less as he did, which caused me to rnter yopur "fussy" website and sign up. All of this was dine just to post this comment.
Ecstine had one of the greatest pop baritone voices of his era, apart from Billy Daniels (similar). He lost the p[lot a bit over the years because of his excessive vibrato. Nevertheless, Mr B waw one of the truly great Night Club Singers opf his day. I belong to a music club and have recently done Bil;ly's numbers more or less in his style.
