Frank's tonging was a combination of TaTaKa TaTaKa and
Dig-A-Da Gad-a-ga. The other thing is his mouthpiece was by Terry Warburton. I was in Terries shop in Toronto when Frank got it. Yes it's very shallow just like mine. The trick is to start by learning to play peddles on it. Then play everything using a peddle embochure. i was taught this by my old freind and teacher Ian MacDougall one of the great tromnbonists.
Last though I am using an Al Kay Yamaha slide onto a Jupiter bell. The reason is the Jupiter bell is made of a nickel base combination intead of a brass base combination as used by Yamaha. This makes for an edgier sound and makes the upper register easier to play, rather like my old Joe De Bruycker bell from Vancouver BC Hope this works
    Cheers Grahame
