Present at the Tin Angel performance were “Bunky” and Rita de Vecchis, owners of the DeVecchis Gallery on South Street and devout jazz fans. Bunky was busy taking photos, and some of his collection featuring jazz musicians can be seen at their Gallery. As is usual for a Martino gig, there were a slew of guitar players present, as well. And Martino’s wife, Ayako Akai, who accompanies him to performances whenever possible, brought her grace and sensitivity to the occasion.

An event not to be missed is coming up. On March 5th, Martino and Ridl will perform “Duets” at Verizon Hall, The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts . My suggestion is: buy your tickets now, so you can get the best seats. And look forward to an extraordinary evening of music.
