PRISM Quartet: Heritage/Evolution, Volume 1
Il trait d'union è il filo della respirazione circolare, per una ricca cavalcata dove le svolte melodiche improvvise si sposano a meraviglia sia con spostamenti ritmici che con le sontuose sovrapposizioni timbriche in tutti i registri dello strumento. Con "The Missing Piece" l'album continua affrontando la polifonia classica europea, tutta rivissuta con una irregolare punteggiatura di metri e sequenze strutturali.
I due esempi sopra citati sono l'emblema di una rara capacità di rivitalizzare i riferimenti culturali omaggiati, contaminandoli con un cambio di prospettiva ed invenzioni di stampo squisitamente jazzistico. Tutti i brani proposti toccano alte vette espressive proiettando questo magnifico gruppo tra le eccellenze assolute della musica contemporanea internazionale. Le composizioni proposte colpiscono pure per la solenne bellezza dei temi e la tensione espressiva del collettivo.
