Take Five With Paris Toon
Jazz is suppose to come from the soul and not some musicians who have to create a new genre in order to call themselves a jazz musician. I do not produce jazz, but when I do, I will use the true jazz musicians that play from the soul and play within the true genres of jazz's origin.
What are some of the essential requirements to keep jazz alive and growing?
Continue to raise the bar of musicianship and production and passion. The more we accept the subgenres of watered down jazz the faster we lose true fans and future musicians. Teach consumers the history of jazz as well as help market and promote true jazz with the support that R&B, pop and hip-hop have behind them.
What is in the near future?
Mothers Favorite Child Tour, 2012 my first true jazz recording with legends of jazz and the new cats who are next.
