IN HARMONIOUS FLOW

The time between us now so far

It's only traces found in songs,

The beauty in the world of sound.

Accurate description with saxophone

Of how emotions swing.

Deep the feelings of long ago

Kept active in harmonious flow,

A balance against bad feelings

That our love-affair showed

When the fire-crackers fizzled

And the love went cold.

But a priceless portion at the core

Illuminates that glory

Thru celestrial tunes that soothe me

When the nights run long and cold.

UNION WON

As if a distant star

I wonder where you are,

What gestures fill your days.

Listening to musicians play

Mellow flowing harmony

I remember how you held me:

The flow so strong and warm

The undercurrent of every tune

Still haunts me every dawn.

The dreams are union won

Caught in romantic songs

To fill the days with rhythm

Remembering what we'd done.

SOUNDS DISPLAY

The January thaw dramatic.

Life's experiences flash and fade.

Each evening, listening, I ponder:

What a fool to turn away

But the threat of jail-time

Broke the bond we'd made,

Tho I had surrendered my soul to you!

Thus the urge can't be stayed

But flows thru sounds created

When jazz freaks play,

And listening to such harmony

My thanks in sounds display

The beauty when we merged as one

Only death can take away.

WARMTH FLOWING

The therapy: a joint of weed,

Mellow flow of sax, guitar, drums

Full range of piano, bass, horn

Pouring out of the speakers

As I sit here, alone.

Angry that the brain exploded

Which locked you from my home

But the beauty in our union

Plays on in every tune.

Our love shifted into song

And every time I'm listening

Your image flashes rhythmically

Warmth flowing thru my bones.
