All About Jazz began in 1995 as an independent jazz publication and has grown into a global platform for jazz discovery.

Today, AAJ connects millions of people each year with musicians, recordings, articles, interviews, news, photos, videos, radio, podcasts and other resources devoted to jazz and improvised music. More than three decades of published material also form an extensive searchable archive documenting the music and the people who make it.

Throughout that time, All About Jazz has remained independent and focused on a simple purpose: helping people discover jazz while supporting the musicians, writers, photographers, presenters and other professionals who sustain it.

All About Jazz has received recognition from The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Time, Forbes and the BBC, and is a 13-time recipient of the Jazz Journalists Association's award for Best Website.

Built around a database of more than 40,000 venues and nearly 8,000 festivals and concert series, Jazz Near You connects listeners with jazz events in more than 300 cities worldwide.

Event listings, weekly geo-targeted newsletters, calendar tools and the Jazz Near You app work together to help audiences discover live jazz while giving musicians, venues, festivals and presenters practical tools to reach them.
