Maurizio Najt (piano): Maurizio was born in Milan, Italy and raised in Argentina where he graduated at piano and composition at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. Played an important role as a tango pianist in the New York tango renaissance, performing with the ensemble "Amigos del Tango," and later with the "New York Tango Trio" with whom he performed at Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires in 2002 for the Festival de Música Internacional. Performed with the Forever Tango Orchestra (Luis Bravo's Tony winning product) touring the US, Mexico, Japan and China. Other performance venues include: Midsummer Night Swing at Lincoln Center Plaza, Alice Tully Hall, El Museo del Barrio, Argentine Embassy in DC and Tokyo; Vanderbilt Mansion Museum in LI, Caramoor Center for Music and Arts, The Montclair Art Museum; Brooklyn's Museum of Art; Cleveland Art Museum; Philadelphia Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Ravinia Festival in Chicago; Smithsonian Art Museum in DC, and countless milongas and tango shows throughout the US playing along master bandoneonists such as Grammy winner Raul Jaurena, Tito Castro and Héctor del Curto. Toured Japan, Korea and Hawaii with Japanese tango diva Anna Saeki. Toured with legendary Pete Seeger and Argentinean folk hero singer León Gieco in his first USA tour. Co-produced and directed in Chicago the show “Crónicas de Buenos Aires,” a multimedia and educational review of the history and evolution of the art of Argentine tango in music, dance and poetry. As a composer he has produced original music for independent film productions and documentaries, among them the acclaimed off-Broadway musical theater "Don Quixxxote" (ACE award nomination), and the children's tango musical "A Tango for Tita" (ACE award winner). Collaborated as an arranger with Academy-Award winning film director Ang Lee for the film "Lust Caution." Ballet Pianist for the Astoria Fine Arts Center and the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts. Recently he was invited again to be part of the great show "Forever Tango," which ran at the Kerr Theatre on Broadway during the summer and fall of 2013.
