FUND DRIVE: FINAL DAYS
AAJ needs your support to raise funds to help us complete two important projects: (1) the "my.allaboutjazz.com" system and (2) the regional calendar of events.
Thanks to several generous contributions, we were able to purchase a firewall, which will protect the site against several potential security-related problems.
Please lend your financial support to the following projects:
(1) my.allaboutjazz.com. This technology will allow you to specify your personal interests and make it possible for us to deliver dynamic, individually-customized content.
- Filter/prioritize content (articles, reviews, news, digital downloads) based on genre, artist name, record label, release date, etc.
- Create your own profile page (list your desert island picks, list what you're listening to now, list your favorite websites, add your bio, etc.)
- View the regional calendar of events
- Post comments to articles and cd reviews
- Rate the usefulness of an article
- Subscribe to a column or a contributor
(2) Regional calendar of events. This system will allow you to...
- View a daily event calendar specially tailored to your location (or any other location)
- Subscribe to your local calendar (via email)
- Purchase tickets to events
- Place a dynamically-updated local calendar on your website
If you've followed AAJ over the years, you know we're a committed, caring and innovative group. Please contribute today and help us finalize the projects mentioned above. $10, $25, $50... whatever you can afford is enough. We accept online credit card payments, Paypal and checks. Heck, if you'd prefer to handle the transaction over the phone, we'll call you. Just email us your number and a good time to call.
A WORD FROM OUR SPONSORS...
AAJ is proud to showcase several exciting new releases at our New Release Showcase Center. We've also recently created an advertising index page to list all our banner advertisers.
Please show your support and visit these two pages. If you see a link of interest, please click on it and
see what our advertisers have to offer.
SITE REDESIGN: LOOKIN' GOOD!
We recently re-launched the website with a sparkling new look and have been refining it ever since.
We now prominently feature our cover stories on the top of the home page, we've reduced the dropdown menu options from nine to six, and we've repositioned a few content sections. Enjoy!
UPCOMING JAZZ RELEASES - IMPROVED!
AAJ has greatly improved the performance of the Upcoming Releases Center. Regular visitors will notice a much zippier page and Netscape users will enjoy a complete list of titles.
Maintained by Charlie Dahan and John Kelman, the AAJ Upcoming Releases Center is the most comprehensive searchable jazz upcoming releases listing on the web.
BULLETIN BOARD COMMUNITY GROWING
The AAJ bulletin board is as active as ever; the wealth of information posted daily is astonishing. To visit the board, click the "Community" link at the top of the AAJ home page or scroll down to the "Community" box.
Kudos for the board...
"I find this a very friendly community and am always amazed at the level of knowledge and helpfulness on this board!" ~Mike Bryan
"I am enjoying being connected to All About Jazz, the jazz people here are so great." ~SirStittsville
