CD REVIEWS AND ARTICLE HIGHLIGHTS

March was the second consecutive month in which we published nearly 200 CD reviews. Over thirty writers chipped in with CD reviews, extended analysis reviews and multiple reviews.

We featured some stellar cover stories this month, including: Gregory Robb's study of the parallels between Jazz & Boxing, Dr. Judith Schlesinger's suggestions on stress-relieving jazz, and Raul d'Gama Rose's profile of Aziza Mustafa-Zadeh,

As always, AAJ brings you up close and personal with today's jazzers of note. This month we chatted with François and Louis Moutin, Wynton Marsalis, Mike Stern, and David Chesky.

NORDIC SOUNDS

AAJ welcomes Matthew Wuethrich and his new column Nordic Sounds. Matt's been on top of the Scandinavian jazz scene for the last few years and we were more than happy to oblige his request to consolidate his coverage into one tidy column.

BULLETIN BOARD GUESTS

AAJ welcomes new jazz musicians to the bulletin board each month giving members an opportunity to ask questions, post comments, exchange ideas, and interact in an open forum. It's always insightful and fun, so please check it out and chime in.

Our current guest list includes: trumpeter Jim Rotondi, saxophonist Fred Hess, drummer Ted Sirota, and guitarist Ken Hatfield.

FESTIVAL GUIDE 2004

We have nearly 300 festivals listed in our jazz festival directory, with new ones added weekly. If you're looking for ideas on which festivals to attend this year, start your search with our guide. You can display the master list, or search by zip code, city or state.

If you produce or promote a festival, and your festival is not listed, please submit it today.

APRIL 1, 2004

Don't forget to stop out tomorrow and read all about the new duo CD by Pat Metheny & Kenny G. We also reviewed a bootleg recording featuring the likes of former President Bill Clinton, Senator Orrin Hatch, and Reverend Al Sharpton.

300,000 AND GOING STRONG

AAJ is proud to note that our monthly site traffic eclipsed the 300,000 visitor mark for March. We'd like to thank those who frequent the site, and want to let everyone know that several new content features are on the immediate horizon.

We just recently formalized our mission statement. If you're curious as to what we're really all about, please visit our Contact Us page.

Stay tuned, stop back often, and please tell a jazzy friend about AAJ.

All the best,

Mike, Chris, Nils and the entire All About Jazz Staff
