AN AAJ STAPLE: DAILY CD REVIEWS & INTERVIEWS

AAJ published nearly 180 CD reviews in November including almost every new and noteworthy release: Jean-Michel Pilc, Bill Cunliffe, Ron Blake, Madeline Eastman, Josh Roseman Unit, Tony Malaby, Liberty Ellman, Adam Rogers, and Miroslav Vitous. To read these reviews and many more, visit the CD REVIEW CENTER.

AAJ also chatted with pianists Franck Amsallem and Jean-Michel Pilc, Either/Orchestra's Russ Gershon, and guitarists Pat Martino and Kurt Rosenwinkel. You can also learn about the origins of All About Jazz from AAJ's publisher and founder Michael Ricci.

NEW PHOTOS AND PAINTINGS

There's plenty to look at this month with the addition of twelve new art exhibits including two by painters Keith Henry Brown and Mark Cottman. Others exhibits include Steven Johnson's Zeitgeist in Tucson, Nunzio Mari's Visions of Sounds, Vol 3 and Kevin Cox's Tanglewood Jazz Festival 2003.

For the latest exhibits, visit our ART GALLERY page.

JAZZ GUIDES & DIRECTORIES

We lost close to 1,000 records from our company directory in the server crash, but we quickly rebounded and added back the missing radio stations, clubs, festivals, print publications, record labels, and societies. AAJ prides itself on being a thorough resource and we encourage you to use it to find the items mentioned above.

We added a Web Resources directory the other day, so if you produce a jazz resource, a fan site, an educational site, a novelty site, a bulletin board, etc., you can submit it here. If you do add your site, AAJ does request a reciprocal link. For how to link back to AAJ, go here.

HOLIDAY GIFT SUGGESTIONS: 2003

Looking for gift ideas for a jazzy friend or loved one? Try our holiday suggestions page for DVDs, box sets, posters and books.

BULLETIN BOARD: HEIGHTENED ACTIVITY

The AAJ Bulletin Board is getting back on track thanks to the many members who returned after the crash. We've also seen an influx of new members as of late, so the board is slowly but surely returning to an active place to talk all things jazz.

This month's hot topics include: What Are You Listening To?, What Is Your Latest Music Purchase?, and Jazz "covers" of rock music.
