YouTube is awash in homemade videos featuring copyrighted music, and while much of that content is protected by fair use or is so infrequently viewed that it flies under the radar of copyright holders, some uses have resulted in legal action.
Want to focus more on your video skills than crafting a defense of fair use? YouTube announced this week that it has partnered with independent music branding and licensing agency Rumblefish to let YouTube users add Rumblefish content to their videos.
Using our AudioSwap tool, you can now easily add pre-approved Rumblefish music, or selections from our already extensive catalog of music, to your new or existing videos," YouTube wrote in a blog post.
YouTube launched AudioSwap, which also provides access to pre-approved copyrighted material, in February 2007.
