The Suzanne Pittson Quartet will present the music of trumpeter Freddie Hubbard with original lyrics on Wednesday, January 24 at Sweet Rhythm in New York City.

Suzanne will perform such Freddie Hubbard compositions as “Birdlike," “Crisis," “Cunga Black," “Jodo," “Hub-tones" and “The Intrepid Fox" with original lyrics, as well as “Up Jumped Spring," with lyrics by Abbey Lincoln.

Suzanne Pittson lives in New York and is Assistant Professor of Jazz Vocal Studies at The CityCollege of New York. Her bold and adventurousimprovisations, based on study of John Coltrane and the post-Coltrane saxophonists, push thedevelopment of the jazz singing language into new realms of expression.
