Greetings, people of earth! Tune in to Freedom Jazz Dance this Sunday for the unstoppable sound of freedom in the groove with the latest, greatest performers and rare recordings throughout the history of jazz. This week, well be headed for the spaceways with the music of mad genius Sun Ra and his Interstellar Arkestra. Ill also be spinning tunes from the likes of piano master Andrew Hill, vibist Red Norvo and dusty grooves you cant find nowhere but here. Feel free to call in during my trademark Two Of A Kind and Records From Aunt Ruth segments at 804-289-UR90 or drop me an IM at WDCE Request during the show.

Missed the last show? The latest FJD show is uploaded by Tuesday of each week for your listening pleasure. Double click on the Radio blog file and listen to Freedom Jazz Dance in the comfort of your cubicle. Playlists and record covers are posted each week as well. Feel free to blog away and talk jazz. Id love to hear from you!

This weeks FJD blog question:

Who is playing the baddest saxophone these days? (and by bad, I mean good). Log on and let me hear from you, jazz cats!

90.1 FM WDCE adds another two more hours to its Sunday Jazz line-up!

90.1 FM WDCE has always been the only station in Richmond that brings you a full day of jazz. Now weve bumped it up another two hours with the addition of Paul Pearces Cool Jazz Set from 7-9 PM following FJD. So now youve got

9AM-1PM - Herb's adventurous Soundwaves show
1-3PM Claude's long-standing jazz set
3-5PM Bud Tyler's swingin' show (ably commandeered over the summer by outstanding DJ Larry Minnick)
5-7 PM the unstoppable sound of Freedom Jazz Dance
7-9PM Paul Pearces Cool Jazz Set

That's 12 hours of great jazz, more jazz in a single day!
