Position Opening: Program Assistant at Chamber Music America

>Chamber Music America, the national service organization for the ensemble music profession, seeks a Program Assistant who will report to the co-directors of the Program Department. The position includes responsibilities specific to CMAs jazz and classical grant and award programs and the professional development activities that are the primary functions of the department, as well as general office duties as required.

POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting program directors with all activities relating to CMA's grant programs

  • Fielding inquiries and providing information to grant/award seekers and grantees

  • Formatting program guidelines, application and report forms in Adobe and MS Word for web posting and distribution

  • Coordinating review panels, including travel/hotel arrangements, distribution of materials, catering , note-taking, and compiling panel scores

  • Assisting with grant program publicity and advertising

  • Assisting with proposals and reports to CMA program funders

  • Assisting with website content, archive maintenance, research, and data entry

  • Performing general administrative and clerical tasks

  • Participating in CMA-wide initiatives and events as required



QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, with significant coursework in music and/or arts management



  • Minimum of two years work experience, preferably in the arts

  • Proficiency with both Mac and PC, and with Microsoft Office, Adobe and basic music recording/editing and e-mail/scheduling software

  • Background in classical/contemporary and jazz music

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Good organizational skills; ability to coordinate multiple projects and assignments and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently, in a team and with the public



SALARY
$30,000 plus benefits package
