On April 8th, Musicians For Harmony will bring Jewish and Arab composers together in its 2010 Spring 'Concert For Peace.' This remarkable event has been conceived as a contrapuntal dialogue between cultures, as five of the foremost living Jewish and Arab composers will showcase the diversities, individual richness and, above all, shared histories and common ground of their respective heritages.

Established by Allegra Klein shortly after September 11, 2001, Musicians For Harmony's mission is to promote peace and cultural exchange through music. The organization has earned significant and growing attention for its charitable and diplomatic efforts in the years since. M4H's annual concerts of chamber and world music are the centerpiece of an expansive, international program of performances, educational activities and cross- cultural exchange.

Their April 8th 'Concert For Peace,' at the Kaufman Center's Merkin Concert Hall in New York City, will feature the world premiere of 'Furia,' a song cycle commissioned by M4H from acclaimed Palestinian composer Mohammed Fairouz. Other highlights of the program will include works by Richard Danielpour, Halim El-Dabh, Yehudi Wyner and Tobias Picker. Performers will include The Borromeo Quartet, Imani Winds and baritone Randall Scarlata. Proceeds will benefit M4H's innovative educational and cross-cultural projects, and additional program notes follow below.
