Every Friday beginning at 7 AM until midnight ET we'll begin each hour with a classic piece of Jazz Fusion history with our special feature we call IF IT'S FRIDAY, THIS MUST BE FUSION. Many people think that the fusion era brought on a hard-edged side of jazz with electric guitar, synthesizers and other electric instruments and a rock attitude, and that is indeed true, but there was a softer, albeit fine and funky side too, created by artists who played an acoustic instrument with an ancient history...the flute. We'll focus on that great instrument in fusion with a special feature we call “FOUR FANTASTIC FUSION FLUTISTS!" You'll hear two greats from Texas, Hubert Laws and Bobbi Humphrey, as well as the late, great Herbie Mann and one of the pioneers of world-jazz, Yusef Lateef. You'll hear them all if you join us for this week's edition of IF IT'S FRIDAY, THIS MUST BE FUSION. A day filled with music by “FOUR FANTASTIC FUSION FLUTISTS!"

This Saturday, July 17th, we return to what is possibly the greatest jazz festival on earth with our weekly feature WORDS & MUSIC on MOJA Radio, this one titled “MONTREAL 2010 REVISITED!" For the 7th year in a row Russ Davis returned to the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal to see some of his favorites and discover new artists. In addition to enjoying all the music and the sights, sounds and general joys of one of the world's great cities, Russ caught up with some of the artists performing at the 31st edition of the FIJM and we'll give you those conversations with artists like Dave Douglas, Jack DeJohnette, George Benson, Richard Bona and Robert Glasper. Interview segments followed by music will begin each hour from Noon through Midnight Eastern time (9 AM-9 PM Pacific). So join us for “MONTREAL 2010 REVISITED," on this week's WORDS & MUSIC.
