Multi MOBO award winner YolanDa Brown has topped the UK iTunes and Amazon jazz charts with her debut album April Showers, May Flowers".
The album was released in February 2012 with tow special concerts at the London HMV Hammersmith Apollo accompanied by the London Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and special guests including Ian Shaw, Jacqui Dankworth, Omar and Nigerian saxophonist Mike Aremu.
The album has risen to the top slot amidst much critical and music loving acclaim from public and aficionados alike. As an independent artist this is a true testament to the music being written, produced and performed by this incredible musician. This has seen her overtake many more well-known and established artists releasing their latest product at the same time, supported by massive marketing budgets and generous media access.
As one of the many initiatives on the route to her public, YolanDa Brown and her management established Black Grape Records to enable this release.
Yolanda is about completing a UK tour in support of the album and looks forward to extending the run overseas as the year progresses.
