Now in its sixth decade, non-commercial, listener-sponsored community radio station WFMU is holding its annual on-air fundraiser (through March 13 at midnight, ET). WFMU is a completely independent organization that has no commercially underwritten programming and accepts no corporate or government strings-attached funding.

WFMU holds only one on-air fundraiser every year (for two) weeks, when it endeavors to raise the bulk of its operating budget.

Jazz is a vital component of WFMU's programming. Rather than isolate the music in a box, WFMU presents its programming within a freeform aesthetic, allowing blues, soul, gospel, international, experimental and other sounds infuse its jazz offerings.

WFMU is based in Jersey City, New Jersey, but broadcasts to the world via the Internet.

You can visit the station's website here.

You can listen online anytime here.

WFMU survives year-to-year due to the generosity of loyal listeners around the world who support creative, adventurous radio presented by DJs with complete editorial control of their own programming selections.

Please consider making a (safe, secure) pledge in support of this unique and vital radio station.
