The Jazz Arts Group of Columbus (JAG) is proud to announce that it has been named the 2011 recipient of The Columbus Foundation Award. Created in 1986, The Columbus Foundation Award recognizes non-profit organizations that have made a difference in the quality of life in central Ohio.

“We are so honored to have received The Columbus Foundation Award, both as acknowledgment of the Jazz Arts Group's work on stage and in the community, but also as acknowledgement that the creative power of arts can serve as a true connecting force for all people," expressed JAG Executive Director Bob Breithaupt.

JAG has been awarded a grant of $25,000 from the Barbara J. Haddox Fund of The Columbus Foundation in recognition for being named the 2011 Columbus Foundation Award honoree. JAG accepted the honor during a ceremony at The Columbus Foundation's annual meeting on September 15. Previous award winners include the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus Metropolitan Library, and the YMCA of Central Ohio, amongst others.

JAG is also pleased to announce a grant of $5,000 from the Ben and Dana Falter Fund of The Columbus Foundation in support of “Jazz Moves Columbus," a bicentennial collaboration with BalletMet Columbus to premiere February 2, 2012.
