Have Your Promotional Toolkit Ready

It's important to take charge of your own promotion and not assume that anyone else is doing it for you. But doing so requires making sure that you have all the important tools readily available. Post them somewhere that they can be found easily on your web site (for those writers on a 2AM deadline) and store an emailable copy on the computer of everyone on your team. Be sure to include:

  • high resolution color and b&w photos
  • logos
  • biography
  • quotes from the media
  • scans of just 3 or 4 of your best press clippings
  • scan of a promo flyer and poster
  • web ready graphics and banners

Having these tools ready for use by anyone, anywhere at anytime will increase the chances of getting your share of free media coverage.
