SEATTLE SONGSTRESS DEBUTS NEW ALBUM, “SPEECHLESS" WITH TRIPLE DOOR PERFORMANCE

Seattle's own Barbie Anaka performs at The Triple Door on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 7:30pm in celebration of the release of her third album, entitled “Speechless". A triple threat as a contemporary jazz singer/songwriter/producer, Anaka enjoyed success with her first two recordings, “In Love With a Memory" and “Ballads Through the Night." She appeared live on Fox's morning news with her band and performed throughout the region after selling out Dimitriou's Jazz Alley with the debut of her first CD. After a two year run as house band at The Edgewater Hotel in downtown Seattle, Anaka became sought after as a vocal coach and producer and worked to develop new artists. “Speechless" marks her return to the stage as a bandleader, where she'll showcase her melodic songwriting, pristine voice and solid sense of groove with the help of her 9 piece band. Featured special guest for the evening is percussionist Tony Gable, who earned notoriety playing with Kenny G's band and with his own group, Tony Gable and 206.

The single from the new CD, the title track “Speechless" is available on itunes and is currently being played on the popular internet radio station, smoothinseattle.com. The full length album's official release date is 1.13.13, but will be available prior to that at the Triple Door performance. Tickets for the show are $15 in advance / $25 at the door.
