Teague Bechtel

Teague Bechtel, a guitarist and composer from the Orlando, Florida area, has a varied musical background. Teague is the founder of the independent blues/rock trio The Teague Stefan Band that has toured extensively and recorded two internationally recognized albums of his original compositions, Game of Life (2008) and Hard Eight (2006).

Teague now holds his doctorate in Jazz Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. He returned to school in 2009 after 6 years on the road as a touring blues musician with the goal of advancing his technique on the guitar and learning the advanced harmonies intrinsic to jazz music. This led him to the music of Blue Note Records from the 1960's. The soul jazz produced by the label captured his interest. In researching this music, and more specifically the music of Grant Green, he was inspired to write music for a new album. Back at the Roadhouse (2018) is the culmination of these efforts. Each song has been composed with the spirit of his idols in mind: Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Stanley Turrentine, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Having performed this music for enthusiastic audiences in the Colorado area and he assembled a group of some of the finest musicians in Colorado to record with.

Now living in Colorado, he is actively performing in the Northern Colorado and Denver area.
