Spectrum Vocal Band is a five-member Bulgarian a cappella group, crossing boundaries between pop, jazz and traditional Bulgarian folk music. Since its foundation in 2012 the group has performed at some of the most notable stages in Bulgaria, such as the National Palace of Culture, Bulgaria Hall, and Bulgarian National Radio. Spectrum appeared at major jazz, classical, choral and contemporary arts festivals all over Bulgaria, their concerts often broadcast by national radio and television stations. They also had huge success with audiences in Serbia, as they played shows in Bosilegrad and Nis. The five singers have had productive collaborations, both live and in studio, with some of the finest Bulgarian jazz, classical, folk and pop musicians, such as Theodosii Spassov, Eva Quartet, Hristina Beleva, and others. In 2018 Spectrum were invited to be the opening act for the Manhattan Transfer at their concert in Sofia and were highly praised by the giants of vocal jazz. In 2019 they released their debut album of original music called "Cross Point", and in 2021 their second album “Singerprints” came out. It is a collection of traditional and original tunes in Bulgarian folklore style, full of rich harmonies, haunting rhythms and vivid vocal colors.
Albena Bezovska, Radio Bulgaria:
“Spectrum Vocal Band – talented, inspired young singers - appeared on the Bulgarian
music scene about eight years ago. And in the time since then they have never
swerved away from their professionalism or their aesthetic outlook, whatever the
hardships or the changes they have been through. The vocal mastery of Spectrum is
well known to audiences in this country from their many concerts and performances
at festivals.”
Svetoslav Nikolov, Jazz FM Radio, Sofia:
“Exquisite singers, a lovely team, a tight-knit family”
“In their album there is everything that we can dream of. They (Spectrum) are bright
individuals, who have knowledge of the world around them and embrace it to create a
sense of harmony in their community. Spectrum has been a band to admire for a long
time and their debut album “Cross point” has been met with great enthusiasm. The
album is as addicting as the good life is.”
“In their musical ideas and lyrics they keep alive the flame of childhood. Past
traditions build their foundations, on which they observe the presence and can clearly
see the future.”
“Spectrum are the authors of new “hymns” – of inspirational songs. Their songs are
so beautifully crafted, that the spiritual experience of listening to them materializes
into a fairytale-like reality.”
