Sally Jane Hurst

With a repertoire that extends across the traditional jazz range into more contemporary influences, Sally Hurst can swing with elegant ease and deliver ballads with an achingly honest intensity. Experience her live to understand how her expressive interpretation enhances every song as if the story was her own. Sally has performed in some of London’s most prestigious music venues including The Royal Festival Hall, St. Martin’s In The Field and The Barbican. Her international appearances include The Rum House, Times Square NYC and guest spots in Nashville, Santa Monica CA and Auckland, New Zealand with the Bill Farnell Jazz Trio. Sally studied jazz at Chichester College and also with Liane Carroll and Claire Martin. She often sings at The Eastbourne Grand with the dance band and her self-penned songs have been played on BBC radio across the Southern counties, from the jazz stylings of ‘Ain’t No Sign’ to the EDM anthems ‘Breathe’ and ‘Don’t Hold Too Tight’.

Sally Jane Hurst’s voice has a sweetness and control that is deceptive in its power and depth. Her performance is always tailored to suit the venue, from small and intimate or large and celebratory. If you want powerful emotional ballads Sally delivers classic lyrics in a deceptively simple and honest style giving her a unique blend of artistic interpretation and passion in one class package.
