As a leader, Ron released his debut album “Until Now” on the British jazz label “Ubuntu Music” (2022).

The album features original music that inspired by the sound of the Hard Bop of the 1950’s and 1960’s.

After the release of the album, The quartet toured the U.K to celebrate the release of their debut album.

The album has received major coverage from the British and Israeli press -

“You can’t help but respect Magril for his classic diction and clarity of tone. This is a man whose art does the talking, not his pedal rack” (Jazzwise July 2022 issue)

“This record sounds like it could have been recorded in the mid 50s or 60s but still comes over as fresh and contemporary…and it swings. Magril is a fine player with a warm classic jazz guitar tone and an ear for an strong melody” (London Jazz News)

“there is much to be enjoyed and admired in the sophisticated and precise playing.” (Bebop Spoken Here)

“The young guitarist and composer's debut album managed to recreate the sound of Jazz from the 50s and 60s  while adding it a modern interpretation. Melodic and pleasant to the ear but does not give up on complexity and depth with melodies and arrangements. Suitable for any time of the day and you always discover something new “(Ha’aretz - Israel )
