Robert Denton

I am a self taught guitarist. I was raised in the South in the 60s and got my first cheap old guitar from my brother Jim. I learned to play by listening to my brother's records. I would listen for hours to the Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Akkerman, Muddy Waters, B.B. King the guitar pioneers of their day. I started a band when I was 15 and never looked back. Music has always been an important part of my life and the guitar is like an extension of myself - My soul. I am the most fortunate non-acting speaker and self-taught guitarist I know. Vangogh is my inspiration and my playing is all about tone and feeling, not technical ability or how fast I can play. Anyone can learn to play the guitar, but very few can really play it... Pat Metheny, I think hit the nail right on the head when he said: "I don't care if the artist plays three notes or 3000 notes, he should be saying something with them, and that's all that matters". Peace. Rob.
