Lon "Rosco" Dorsey has been singing Lou Rawls songs since the 1970's, and his wife Nina, and a friend of wife Lana, and nephew Mike who communicates with him often, who is also creating a movie on the life of Lou. Rosco is performing his "Tribute To Lou Rawls" now starting this week in Dallas at the Marti Gras Club/Restaurant on Stemmons Freeway, between Medical Blvd and Inwood Road, in the East Tower.
For over 30 years he has worked in broadcast he and Lou Rawls look alike as well. He and Lou were good friends, along with media as a talk show Host in the Texas area. His most recent successful television show was, "The Business & Law News Hour which aired on Paramount/UPN TV 21 in the Dallas/Ft. Worth market, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7 a.m. Born in Dallas, Lon was a regular on scholastic honor rolls, graduated High School and attended college in Dallas. He served in the armed forces in the United States Air Force where he was an honor grad and fifth in his class in computer systems training at Bergstrom AFB, Austin, Texas. Lon is single and has three daughters. Lon looks and sings like friend and recording artist Lou Rawls and is also pursuing a professional singing career.
Lon is a born-again Christian and says that he has been influenced in his life for many years by friend and pastor, Ruben S. Conner, Sr.
In addition to being a veteran television and radio talk show host, and having been on many of the Texas radio and television stations with his own shows as an independent producer, Lon has been recognized in Who's Who in Texas Advertising, featured in national publications, numerous newspapers and magazines around the country, and broadcasts in Texas and other States, including CNN, Associated Press, United Press International, Dallas Morning News, Dallas Times Herald, The Denver Post, Chicago Times, Dallas Observer, Dallas Weekly, AD WEEK, to name a few, for his business and mental prowess, creative ideas, and Christian faith. Currently, he is the president of Dorsey Advertising/Public Relations, a 27 year advertising agency, president/CEO of Legal Counsel Services Marketing, Inc., housing the production arm for his broadcasts (LCSMI Productions), FUTURETALK Telecommunications Company, Inc., a low cost long distance company which was the first company to contract with MCI as a network marketing company to market VideoPhones and numerous other business concerns.

He acted as public relations advisor to former WBC Heavyweight Champ, Larry Holmes in the 1980's, was marketing director for the Dallas Black Hawks Hockey Team during the 1970's, published "Soccer Today" Magazine for Lamar Hunt's Dallas Tornado Soccer Team (1970's) as well as "Hockey Today" for the Dallas Black Hawks, was one of the top fund-raisers for the Dallas Jaycees during that period. In addition to producing quality radio and television shows, he assists businesses with solutions to their marketing and advertising problems and public relations requirements.
Lon is an accomplished writer and publisher with his best successes still ahead of him, he believes. He chided many who said that the year 2000 would spell world doom and saw the abrupt cancellations of his show "Lon Dorsey's Y2K Countdown," which was a great effort in broadcast. Lon is the executive producer and host for the long-running Business & Law" Radio and Television Talkshow Productions (having personally interviewed over ' seven thousand' attorneys) and has had more attorneys on radio and television than any other talkshow host in the history of the Texas within the same period of time. His programming has aired for many years on stations like KRLD/KOOO 1190, KGBS 1190, KLIF 570 AM, KSKY 660 AM, KGGR 1040 AM, K-1600 AM, KMIA-AM/Ft. Worth, KXVI Plano, "The Law & You" Radio and Television Talk Shows, business and legal shows spanning over 'ten' years in Texas, "Lon Dorsey & Friends," "ADTALK," KWJS, KJIM Radio, Arlington, Vision TV KERA 13 (PBS), KDFI TV 27, TV 49 (Dallas/Irving), KMPX TV 29, KXTX TV 39, "Life's Musical Moments" Music-bio shows, KAAM 620 AM, “On Business & Law” on 990 AM Mainstreet Radio, as well as other stations and productions. On March 13, 2004 Lon began working on his first National radio program which was with Matrix Media in Chicago.
Lon has the support and respect of at least most of his peers, and is highly applauded for his efforts in the areas of legal and business media. He was also the first person to publish a newspaper to highlight the problems of homelessness in the Dallas area (Streetpeoples News), and is bringing the newspaper back after 13 years. Lon is in the process of producing two new TV shows: “Not At Home,” (and is re-launching SWNews in Texas;) which is a 5-day/week show that will air Mondays through Fridays, 12 Noon to 1 p.m.; and “LateNite Business & Law w/Lon Dorsey" are other television productions Lon is working on, in addition to On Business & Law with Lon Dorsey which will re-launch on Texas radio stations, KSEV AM 700 and KMGS AM 1160, simulcasting on Thursday evenings from 8-9 p.m. He is also launching Professional Lawyer Review Magazine, a consumer-based, legal products, lawyer-rating publication for corporations and individuals, and is re-issuing his newspaper covering the homeless issue, "Streetpeoples Weekly News and developing a new staff in the Houston, Texas area that will be the paper's new home base.
