Matheus Wendt

Matheus Wendt is a guitarist, composer and music teacher from São José do Hortêncio/RS, currently residing in Porto Alegre/RS where he develops his work. He had his first contact with the guitar at the age of 7 and at the age of 11 he started playing the eletric guitar. He has been working professionally in music since he was 15 years old, when he began playing with his city's big band as well as local bands.

He graduated from the Technical Course in Music with an emphasis on guitar at Faculdades EST/ESEP (2018), where he was a student of Prof. James Liberato (2015-2018). During this period he deepened his studies in brazilian music and jazz.

In 2019 he moved to Porto Alegre, where he is graduating in Popular Music at UFRGS (2019 - present). During his graduation project he developed his first album with his own compositions, Long Story Short, which features the participation of Felipe Schütz, João Bauken and Pedro Saul. Over the last year, the quartet has been developing its work on the Porto Alegre music scene.
