Martin Gioani

Martin Gioani is a guitar player, pedagogue and content creator with a community of more than 200K subscribers. Since 2005 he teaches guitar, creates pedagogical content and full courses on his website guitare-improvisation.com, and shares tutorials and backing tracks on his Youtube channel Guitare Improvisation.

A vast experience in jazz, gypsy jazz and Brazilian music led Martin to teach in different seminars, including the most prestigious Django in June in 2019 in Massachusetts. His interest towards different cultures, music genres and languages can be felt in his approach to teaching as much as in his playing.

Martin is passionate about improvisations and chord transcriptions. Through his daily work as a teacher and creator he developed a deep understanding of the music of Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery, João Gilberto, Fundo de Quintal or Kurt Rosenwinkel to list just a few.

On the artistic side, Martin has participated in various projects since the beginning of his career, the more recent one being the duo with the jazz singer Sarah Kennedy. On his latest published work his trio Paris Music Tales gave him free rein to explore his passion for composition. the record “Grabuge” contains half of the tunes composed by him. Also, among them, the sextet Le Grand Escalier directed by Jean-Charles Richard or also the Italian swing band Le Scarpe Mobili.
